The La Mirada Men's Golf Club (LMMGC) would like to welcome you to our web site. We are dedicated to making our Club enjoyable, accessible and affordable for our members. LMMGC is a Club that is open to the general public and welcomes new members that share our core values. We promote sportsmanship, integrity, honesty and camaraderie through the game of golf. As our past-President, Bob Black would always say, "Remember...it's the fellowship that counts."
Now is the time to begin planning your tournament schedule for the 2012 year. There are many great opportunities to play tournament golf this year, along with the monthly home and away tournaments which this year includes a 2-day event at Alisal River Course in Solvang, July 28 and 29.
We will also have our President’s Cup beginning March 31 [See
application in bulletin], the Member/Guest tournament in June,
followed by the Club Championship November.
The following are the check-in and cancellation policies for the
Home and Away Tournaments for 2012 year. These policies have not
changed. This is merely a reminder for the current membership and to
inform all of the new members, therefore avoiding any controversy.
Members are required to check in at least 30 minutes prior to your
starting time. If your entire group is late or did not cancel, that
group will not be allowed to sign up for the following home
tournament until after 9:00 A.M. Each member is responsible for
canceling his own starting time with Tim Schoenbaum, by 8:00 P.M.
Thursday night before the tournament. No show fees will be strictly
enforced on each of these issues.
Away tournament no show fees are determined by the course that we
are playing. Once our Club has passed their cancellation point, a no
show fee will be assessed unless you are able to find someone to
take your place. You are still responsible for payment if your
replacement does not show up to the course. Please check in at the
time posted by Roy in the bulletin or the Web Site.

Jerry's Rule Corner
USGA Policy on Gambling
General,
An "Amateur Golfer" whether he plays competitively or for
recreation, is one who plays golf for the challenge it presents not
as a pro.
Acceptable forms of Gambling
There is no objection to informal gambling or wagering among
individual golfers or teams of golfers when it is incidental to the
game. It is not practicable to define informal gambling or wagering
precisely, but features that would be consistent with such gambling
include.
1) The players in general know each other.
2) Participation in the gambling or wagering is optional and is
limited to the players.
3) The sole source or all money won by the players is advanced by
the players and the amount of money involved is not generally to be
excessive.
Therefore, informal gambling is acceptable provided the primary
purpose is the playing of the game for enjoyment, not for financial
gain.
Jerry Schultz Rules & Eligibility.
